I find it quite funny really as my understanding is that whenever the French go for a meal, they have a glass or 2 of wine, so I can see that the teaster is in the right direction, there blood and alhahol levels are lower than UK.

I personly would prefer to see a Full ban that Any Alhahol in the blood is a ban.
Drink Driving should just be a full Nono.

some years a go my local was doing a mini bus taxi at closing time for the locals that drank at his pub.

Pretty difficult really. On the basis of a total ban that means you couldn't even use mouthwash, or have a spoon of sherry trifle, or a piece of christmas cake, etc etc etc. There are many products out there which most of us use which contain alcohol in some kind of form.

Luckily I guess most of us on here have grown up with drinking and driving being totally socially unacceptable anyway. It's the generation of those who are now in their 60's which were so used to doing it back in the day.

I wouldn't dream of even having one drink if there is the chance I may be using a vehicle or bilke.

Worse than this, coming next year all motorcyclists in France/Belgium etc are going to have to show a 14cm? fluroescent patch on the rear of their jacket. Get sewing !

Sif that has already been mentioned in another thread, you could just use an armband or a old Sam brown, tbh as lidl sell the hi vid vests for about £1 not going to break the bank,

I know RBL (Brit Legion Riders) already sell a hi vis Sam brown type thing with Legion Riders on the back and Hi Vis poppies on it can't remember where they get them,

My work issue them for to be sat behind the driver in case of any form of breakdown or emergency where we have to get out of the Car.

I personally think it is a good idea that all road using vechicals carry a hi vis per person, then if on any road they can get out and sit out of the way of the traffic but be seen.

Back on hi vis there is a regular Essex Air ambulance ride from nr Basildon to Harwich, I steward for that, (parking for the bikes), as part of that we wear a Hi Vis seems a large pre portion of the motorcyclists can't see Hi Vis vests directing bikes to park either.

I do however feel having to wear it I all te time is a bit much as, with bike headlights, they now see them but seem to take no notice

Hi all. Just bought a two pack of the kits for €1.99 One for the car and one for the bike. Like Phil said, the chances of actually being stopped is slim but if you've got all the stuff they ask you for and you are polite the Gendarmes will leave you to get on your way. Probably
