went to the beaulieu ride-in event today, hasnt rained at all today but every step on the grass was squelchy. the ground is waterlogged, so any extra rain just has nowhere to go, it cant drain

This has been posted on "Anyone sorting out a camping weekend" thread which has just been posted.
The campsite @ Ivinghoe that was used for the Chilterns rally is open & the entrances & ground is good. I live near & could go see the owner if anybody was interested.
A road ride could be arranged @ short notice.
We could use the same off road route if we had lead volunteers.

Jim. A big shame you've had to cancel, was really looking forward to some rain and cooler weather after a week of mid 40's in Corfu :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
Still at least i had not booked the ferry from the midlands :dry: :dry:
It seems that the best time to run rallies in this country is October to March!

Gutted Kev, its my Birthday weekend too. Bloody typical the suns come out today. I went down to Lymington on Saturday and its very wet all around there at the moment.
Hope to run the rally later in the year if enough interest..

Various people, myself included, have indicated that having obtained 'permission of leave' for the weekend, they would like to get out on the bike at some point. Given that the jet stream is forecast to head North around the weekend which, apparently means more summery weather, does anyone want to do a ride around the Salisbury plain area on the Sunday? I am not volunteering to lead, as I am a newcomer to offroading. Just wondering if someone who knows the area would be up for showing a small group around? Should I start a separate thread for this?

I will check with the campsite again for ground conditions for the weekend, can't promise anything. Weathers looking good for the weekend.
Would be great if the grounds drier.

Share it with me? If the weather is ok like its lining up to be, we are going to want a decent ride on sunday.

Jim, last minute thing, but it looks like |I can attend this with Alison... if its still going ahead or has it defo been cancelled due to being a tad too moist for you southern types
