there is a good reason it is called challenge. you can easily do wales in a long weekend.
familiarly with other regions.

and lets put aside all the complaining about mileage and money, it already ruined last years challenge, when Jimbo tried to please all the complaints from the money and mileage crowd. and not many have participated to no surprise :)
not complaining just being realistic. Some of us have jobs and other commitments. I completed holy grail and enjoyed it. No one saying you cant do wales in a weekend, but 50 castles would be a lot of weekends and Scotland and Ireland are longer distances away for some. Unless you think riding flat out from one castle to another with no time to enjoy it is worthwhile.

Having done the original ABR rally, which was excellent. I think this is starting to sound a bit negative.

I would of thought if we can put something together over the next week or two, it will at least give riders an excuse to go out with a purpose for a jaunt on their bike into some nice areas.

With so many potential targets virtually everyone will be able to pick up a few over the course of the (remaining) year. Frankly it doesn't matter whether you get to 5 or 50 locations - it's all about personal goals/constraints being acheived. There is no cash prize after all. But a good bit of banter and a few good stories and photos will no doubt come out of a rally like this..

No one has to do all of them, though obviously there are some here who are retired / have deeper pockets etc who will do more than those who have family commitments / jobs /less dosh.

So now we have co-ordinators for most regions - just need some folks to step up for N.I, Scotland & Wales. Then the various co-ordinators can put their locations up on a new rally page that can be stickied.

Just a thought...
As it's the 100th anniversary of WWI why not have something centred around memorials?
Nearly every town or village has one, they are always in a prominent position, so no hassel getting a picture; and perhaps there could be a gathering at a nominated one on Rememberance Sunday?
It could be based around one village per county; which could also have a built in points system; say 10 points for each county, or if people can't do every county, they could collect 5 points x 2 for doing two in the same county? so technically no one is penalised for not doing great distances.
There could even be a nominal fee payable to the Poppy Appeal,British Red Cross, Help for Heros etc.

I think this is a great idea, I really enjoyed the nature rally because it gave me a reason to visit parts of the country I had never visited before and ride some great roads. I think this would be the same.
