I'm not going to be able to get there :(

I'll not be home until late on Friday so just won't have time to get the bike sorted and be away in time for the 250 mile ride to Barrow. Never mind, if I'm lucky there'll be another chance next year and I might be better organized.

Planning on leaving the campsite on Saturday morning at 08:30. Where you coming from? Recon you will make it?

Will be heading slightly North of Consiton on a few trails, then looping East and South for a breakie stop in Hawkshead. So if you don't make it for 08:30 don't rush and head to Hawkshead. I recon we should be around there at 10ish. Will park in the main carpark in the middle of Hawkshead, you cant miss it.

Are we trail riding with all the gear on the bikes then ? Or is the plan to dump the gear on the island depending on tides

Trail riding with gear. The main crossing is at 14:30 (tide will be coming in from 15:00 onwards.....and it comes in fast). And the best trails are up by Coniston where we are camping Friday night.

We will be doing the beach byway as the final trail (was in ABR a couple of issues back), this is so Tea007 can get his "Dakar training" out of the way as the main cross will be done at a slow relaxed pace (remember its a private "road" so we have to obey the rules set out by the island). You can do what you like on the other beach byway! cough cough TRF 20mph advised....THATS 20 TEA007, not 85.

Hi guys, still planning on riding up and meeting at 8.30 at Hoathwaite. Are you filling up with petrol in hawkshead? Or, is there a station in hawkshead open? If not I`ll fill up in Newby Bridge on the way up.
Looking forward to it.
cheers,
chris

I think there's a petrol station in coniston. I'd fill up on the way though just to make sure. Same goes for everyone. Apart from the one in coniston I don't know where there are anymore fuel stations en route.

Best be prepared and all that. I'm aiming to half at least half a tank come Saturday morning. Don't want the bike too heavy.
