BUGGER - due to the stormy weather yesterday and the road closures where I wanted to get to I decided to put off things a day......
So Im hoping to get to Glentrool today (fri 30 Dec) and then the Lakes tomorrow - New Years Eve, then back to Sheffield :woohoo:
So I might not be uploading my photos while New Years Day - So just hope the mods look on things in a good mood and not with a hangover so I finally get my bronze stickyfoot
Just looked at the outside temp and its 3.1 degrees, so looks like its gonna be a bit of a chilly start to the day

Met Mawse at Kirkby Thore filling station on the A66 near Penrith this
morning. Beautiful bike. Big kudos to you for tackling the run in that weather, my 30m run out to get a 33bhp certificate on me son's bike was uncomfortable enough but heading up into the snow as well.......
If you need a warm up stop on your way back down tomorrow I've got soup, tumble drier, log fire etc in between Brough and Appleby. See PM for contact details.
Best of luck

Well only one more to bag now.
After one hell of a ride up to glentrool in biblical rain, a bit of sleet, and the ice warning light flashing like crazy, I took the snap and ran
On t way on t a66 bumped into PeteT off the forum..... What are t chances of that
Thanks for the encouraging words and offer of a warming fire and soup, but return trip via different route, but loads of thanks.
Will upload pics as soon as I'm back home

Mmm now let me see.... back end of a storm in Scotland, wind, rain, sleat, fog, a bit more rain, oh yeh nearly forgot some biblical rain, and saw the ice warning light on bike (so now I know where it is!) But oddly (some people might say) loved every minute of it
But my target was the BRONZE and Ive finally done it on the last day of the year! Nothing like pushing the limits a bit....
stopping for a coffee on the A66 - what you cant see is me jumping up and down to warm up
