It sounds like the makings of a perfect weekend. I had a camping weekend around the corner at Tollymore Forest Park and can only describe the area as perfection. Sure looking forward to it. A trip up to North Antrim might involve a visit to Bushmills......sure that's as old as you can get!badsanta wrote:There's your next project,92kk,off you go to the drawing board.92kk k100lt 193214 wrote:All good, will play follow the leader and try to keep up. Does that mean we must make out own alcohol? Or am I missing something? I know some bikes have cappuccino machines but wasn't aware of beer making ones.....

Nightmare scenario...Bushmills I mean...never could get the hang of drinking bottles of Bush with me lid on and riding one handed...without spilling some.92kk k100lt 193214 wrote:It sounds like the makings of a perfect weekend. I have to admit one of my favourite stops is parked up at Ballycastle on the North Coast on the seafront for a lunch and ice cream stop. A fresh cod and chips in the sunshine and an ice cream to follow, sitting on the sea walls is hard to beat. A view across to Scotland and warm sunshine and watch the world go by.

Some details of the all day ride out on Saturday
Leaving the site at 9.30am
We will pass through Bryansford and unto Annsborough
Then pass through the Spa and Ballynahinch and Saintfield
From Saintfield we will make our way to Comber then Newtownards
From Newtownards unto Bangor and then Groomsport were we will hug the Irish Sea coast south and round the southern tip of the Ards Pennuslia and unto Portaferry.
We will then folllow the eastern shore of Strangford Lough north through Greyabby and continue north through Newtownards and Comber where we will turn south and follow the western shoreline of Strangford Lough to Strangford.
From Strangford we will continue to hug the shoreline south to Newcastle and back to Meelmore
All tarmac and a mixture of A B and single track roads
We will never be anymore than 50 miles from Meelmore so anyone who wants to peel off or join in at any time can easily do so.
As mentioned 200 miles max
Plenty of stops
Hoping to stop at Portaferry and Daft Eddy's at Whiterock for meal breaks
Should be back at Meelmore before dark
