ABR Midlands Rally 19th - 21st Aug

If you fancy a weekend camping and riding in the sunny Midlands during August read on.

With the South Coast ABR Rally in July, the Highland ABR Rally in September and the Bulldog Bash hitting Stratford on 11th - 14th Aug the weekend of the 19th-21st is the best available date for an ABR Rally in the Midlands.

The site is on a farm about 8 miles out of Stratford that has off road/Enduro riding facilities, a fantastic rural location but dubious washing/lavatory arrangements – I'll check it out but think it'll be more like a wild camp than a Takota experience.

There will be three types of ride outs available on the Saturday.

1 Enduro and mud plugging on a nearby farm.
2 Tour of the Green lanes of the Cotswolds
3 Road tour of the Cotswolds - with a cream tea and scones.

And we could also have a mass ride out to the ABR offices for a piccie.

THE VENUE
Granby Farm
Granby Rd
Nr Halford
Warwickshire
CV36 5DP

Directions
Coming from the North
From M40 junction 15, Take the A429 towards Cirencester. Enter the Village of HALFORD take the first left,(if you pass a pub on the right or petrol station on left you have gone to far). Into IDLICOTE ROAD. You come to a sharp left bend in the road with a right fork - take the right fork. Follow the lane for about a mile until it drops down a hill - the campsite is on the right through a gate at the bottom of the hill. If you continue up the hill GRANBY FARM is on the right.

From Stratford upon Avon
Take the A4300 to Shipston on Stour. At the roundabout just past the village of Newbould on Stour take the 1st turning (heading north) to Halford on the A429 (The Fosse Way) After about 2 miles you enter Halford and take a right just past the garage into IDLICOTE ROAD - see above.

PRICE
£12 per night which includes full use of the off road trails on the farmland plus male and female portaloos.

Facilities
There will be a catering van on site from Friday lunchtime serving all the usual nosh; burgers, bacon, sausage, curry, chips etc plus tea and coffee. The van will be on-site until Sunday morning and will be serving full breakfast, I've been told you'll not be disapointed with quality and quantity.
We've also desided to hire a small marquee so that if the weather weather is crap there will be some cover.
Charles the farmer has said it's okay to have a camp fire.

Local facilities
There is a garage, small shop and pub in Halford - about 2 miles away.
Shipston on Stour is approx 4 miles away and has supermarkets, pubs, hotels, b&b's, chip shops, Chinese and Indian take aways.

If you're interested post below and if you'd like to volunteer to lead a ride out do likewise.

Welcome back Mav. I'll put you on the list as 'probable' and your help on setting up a green lane route would be great news for all those attending.
