ABR Winter Rally, Dorset January 24-26, 2014

Post by MarkN »

Hi All,

After the positive feedback from my earlier post, I've been in contact with the manager at Southern Counties Leisure who was delighted to hear from us and is more than happy to welcome us back again.

All the details remain the same as last year.

We are going to be camping at the Southern Counties Leisure complex and as it's a bit bleak in January the manager has once again offered to open up one of the hotel function rooms for us to eat and drink in on both nights between 6.30pm and 11pm. We will have our own bar area and they have a very good bar menu with meals priced between £8 and £12 B)

All the pitches are on grass and all have an electric hookup and water. We are also welcome to use a hard standing pitch if we prefer. There is also a brand new shower block onsite for us to use.

The only thing that is not allowed is an open fire, but, as we will hopefully be indoors in the evening I don't think this is a great loss considering what we're going to be getting in return.
So, the details are;

Saturday Ride Outs
I will lead a road ride during the day with various stop overs and this should be good day out. Sadly Steve, (tea007) was going to lead a ride on Salisbury Plain but because he has army duties, he has had to back down so I'm looking for a volunteer to lead an off-road ride please?

Yep!

There is hard standing for a camper.

If you want to be really soft, there is a hotel on site. ;)

I like to consider myself fragile rather than soft................. put me down as a yes and I will sort out a towbar and trailer ( been meaning to do it for some time so this is the impetus I need..)

If a moderator reads this, would you be kind enough to put it in the rally section as a sticky please?

Thank you!

Winter camping sorts out the men from the shandy drinkers.
