Problem connecting

Post by fatowl »

I need a bit of help! I cannot connect to the site from my PC. It appears to be blocked!
When I try, I get
"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /forum.html on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
I have tried different browsers, clearing the cache & cookies and rebooting.
I can access OK from my phone - only using roaming - not using my home WiFi.
The only thing I can think is that my IP address has been blocked for some reason?
Could some admin person have a look at this for me please ?
thanks, Fatowl

It sounds to me as though you have parental settings on your router set to their most severe. Log in to your router's settings (your provider's website will tell you how to do this) and adjust the settings to allow you access.

Try temporarily disabling the firewall on your PC then you router and see if either allows connection.

Bizarre as this'll sound don't use a capital f in forum - it's got to be small letters - iffy software if you ask me!

Thanks for the suggestions - however, I don't have parental controls, and it's not a typo - I have been accessing the site through a bookmark just fine since I registered - years ago!
I've tried with firewall off - no joy.
I have also tried different computers & devices - no joy through Wifi, all ok through roaming (ie through my mobile).
I believe the problem is at the website end.
Also, I can connect to other sites fine.

I had the same problem when trying access this site a few weeks ago and with the same words appearing. Its fine now for some bizarre reason, but I solved it by using Chrome browser and installing Hola extension....it hides your IP dress from whence the problem was arising with me......once I used that I could read the site as I could choose which country I was reading same from.
For info in case it happens to others later...
