Got mine in Smiths today and after a quick flick through tonight I am impressed, bloody hell there is a lot in it, shame about Nathans Dyslexia though :whistle: :laugh:

At the recent Taffy Dakar event -
on the campsite there were more Vango Omega 350 tents than any other model - and a couple of Omega 250's

Not sad @all.
I was there in an OMEGA 250 & what a superb tent they are.
A quality build that all other tents should be measured against as are most VANGOs.
And materials consumate with the tents recommended use.
I rate VANGO No.1 against all the other non specialist tents, & looking @, & owning two of their technical tents would have to rate them as good as units costing 5 times as much. (thumbs) (thumbs) (thumbs) (thumbs)

I have a Vango Omega in my loft.. sadly as it's a tunnel tent so I only use it when staying somewhere for more than a couple of nights or more, as Tim says free standing tents only for me.

It's too much of a hassle putting it up and down each day, when travelling abroad.

Still a good tent though.

That's right, my Omega 250 is great for a few days - and it is even big enough for two adults - plus neo-wolf until a few weeks ago, sadly - to sleep in comfort unlike many so-called two-man tents

I'm not so sure about the built quality as Brian (Picos Mestizos) is, however, as the flysheet of mine began to tear alongside the middle pole almost from day 1. I complained to Vango, via sending photos to the dealer, but they wouldn't do anything unless I covered the shipping it to them and back - which would have cost me as much as the tent itself! - with no guarantee that they would refund or replace it. But the dealer did come up with a free repair kit

What I use for camping/touring now is a Quechua T2 Ultralite Pro from Decathlon. It's really big but packs down to nothing. I'd have preferred an igloo or dome tent of course but couldn't find anything that packs so small and light (2 kgs) for the price.



I've taken it on four/five week excursions - I put it up and down in half the time this bloke does! -and used it at a fixed base camp for three weeks at a time and I still love it - and it keeps you dry in the most extreme conditions :silly:
