Not sure how anyone can consider ABR to have too many adverts. You need to see whether or not there is enough article and editorial content in a magazine to justify the cost. If there is, buy it - if there isnt, move on. The adverts are sometimes useful, but are in my view nowhere near over the top.
Its a shame a breakdown of the costs of the magazine production cant be shown - I think most people would be surprised to see how little the cover the price contributes to the recovery of cost of production of the magazine.

Re: Issue 20?
I always go to the contents page in any magazine and have a look to see if there's enough to make me want to buy it and if not it goes back on the shelf. I'm not worried about a high number of adverts, just a low number of things I want to read.
To me this is no different to reading the back cover of a book to see what it's about before I buy it and if it doesn't look interesting it's straight back on the shelf. I'd no sooner buy a magazine on the name than I would a book just because I'd previously enjoyed one by the same author.

I used to spend a lot on motorcycle mags. Of course this was pre internet days, so it was really the only way of getting info, reviews and pictures.
Nowadays, I don't think bike mags can give me anything I cant find for myself on the net.
