I’d like to think I know a bit about military hardware, but I could not work out what that tank was. Doesn’t seem British or a septic tank. Is it a Russian T series. ?

Is it not an early Centurion with the track armour removed?

We converted a couple of T55's for forestry use and it's not one of them.

Just down the track was a Chieftain. Worked that out. 👍

Snaf MKII wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2020 9:38 am Oh yes I was forgetting where you come from, the only group to ever keep up with me and actually enjoy the lane of pain in Devon.
Ha but dont forget I grew up in Bovey and Steve (Lily) from Cambs grew up in Chudleigh... so the Dartmoor lanes are home really ;-)
Another Devon expat here (Hennock way), now in Hants. Loads of lanes in the Lambourn/ Marlborough/Newbury area, keep meaning to venture up that way. (We ride up to the A4, never seem to cross it!) Give me a shout when you are next in the area and I'll drag the Africa Twin out.

I'm of the age where it was obligatory to have had an Airfix MKII Centurion.
