Pindale Public Inquiry, Tuesday 5th November, Castleton.

Post by Hugh »

Greetings folks,

To be held Tuesday next, 5th November 2019, will be the Public Inquiry regarding the DCC's proposed status of 'BOAT' on to Pindale.

The meeting will commence at 10:00 in the Peveril Centre, Buxton Road, Castleton, A6187 close to the Visitor Centre.

https://www.peverilcentre.com/contact

I intend to be there and it would be great if a few more riders could make it to give support too.

Will there be any formal representation from motor vehicle user groups that you know of, Hugh?

Greetings,

Richard, I understand that the TRF is presenting a case, we will just have to wait and see who turns up. Representatives of PDVUG and GLASS will be there, plus no doubt the usual doubting double act from the opposition will be there too.

Greetings,

Yesterday, Alan Kind did an excellent job of representing the TRF's point of view, claiming that the route should be considered as being part of the normal highway network.

Being objective I think that the opposition also gave an excellent performance rejecting the claim too.

I was called to give evidence in support of my own UEF, plus that of a late entry motorcyclist's UEF which I delivered on behalf of another rider.

Today, the Inspector, DCC representative, two from Peak HorsePower and myself walked the route taking cognisance of the nature of the route and the historical evidence.

We did our best and now we must wait for the Inspector to make her decision. I can't say more at this stage on a Public platform, I'm sure you will understand, we will just have to wait for a decision from PINS.

Greetings,

I attach a copy of the PI Inspector's Decision to uphold Pindale as a BOAT.

Incidentally there are two minor errors in that;

my surname is incorrectly spelt on one occasion, just a clerical error of no significance to the result
the second is that I was not a "formal representative" of the TRF (neither did I claim such at any time during the proceedings)
