You may recall this route was closed to motorcycles after expensive repairs because it was claimed that they had damaged it.
Now, after just a few years with no motorcycle use, it needs repair again.
there is a consultation

I have suggested that, as it is clearly not motorcycles which cause the damage in the first place, they should reopen it to motorcycles...as motorcyclist might then help with the repairs.

Re: Chapelgate
Greetings Richard,
I think that on balance it was the PDNPA that enforced the TRO on Chapelgate, Roych and Washgates, but both they and DCC are subject to vociferous persistent pressure from anti-recreational motorist groups, such as Peak Horsepower and their friends.
Perhaps we must wait and see how the current proposed closure of Jacobs Ladder develops. The politics, outright lies, unsubstantiated claims, even deceitful actions of once friends is appalling so it is no wonder that we loose routes. Let's hope that we can find a solution/s that might at least form a consensus answer.
Thank you to those who recorded their objections to proposed Jacobs Ladder closure.

Hugh.
