To the Taffy Dakar Organisers..

I'm sure you've thought of this, but. I use to do alot of track days and there was always a photographer at a good corner to take a really nice photo of you.

We kinda forgot to take photos, now if there was a check point at somewhere interesting with a photographer who could take some decent photos - maybe even sell them on afterwards. I would certainly be tempted to buy one. This could even be a check point next year and points awarded for best photo?

Just a thought!

I think I recognised some of the faces and places on J's clip.

Don't ever remember it looking quite so dry, though.

It was my intention to try to get to as much as possible but i couldn't reach all areas, i'm hoping to get back next year but either on full knobblies or a smaller bike and with a mapped out itinary of all 'hot spots' if i can.

You need to consider a track day photographer parks his car up and walks a couple of hundred yards in his comfy slippers or daps with a camera bag to his spot.
I had a Go Pro on the bike, Sony mirrorless camera with big lens, Drone and all spare batteries in a tank bag and did about 70 miles riding back and forth following riders trying to get good shots, more time spent at 'hot spots' = less travelling time to cover more stuff

I will get more stuff next year for sure!

Fir play for doing what you could, liazing with the organosers for popular spots would be a good start, but with no set route no one Tog is going to capture everyone that's for sure :)

I was just thinking that I would pay for a good photo, now a proportion of that could go to charity or whatever, I’m sure others would too.

Now if some one was to set up at a good place say in the special they would get most people.

It was only a suggestion, I would certainly have taken that home as memorabilia
