mm .. didn't know about this
but always wondered why the open farmlands, moors etc were bereft of teaming wildlife :?

((especially when you ride over the army training rifle ranges
.. you don't seem to see any illegal wild trail riders 8-)

there are 1,000 sheep in this pic .. one wolf in sheep's clothing .. and 30,000 camouflaged army cadets .. but not one feral trail rider (alive)

Sorry Richard, after my initial frustration with some of the arguments and comments - I feel asleep at page 11 and missed your section

It always makes me laugh when the National Park Authorities ban recreational motorcycling from unsurfaced roads on the grounds of 'tranquility', but keep them open specifically for the 'gunbuses' used by commercial shoots.

I pointed out to an NPA official, that if shooting was acceptable on tranquility grounds, but a well-silenced four-stroke motorcycle was not, then the latter could be made to sound like the former by replacing the silencer with an old-school open pipe.

I further advanced the theory that a well-silenced two-stroke motorcycle could produce a passable imitation of a toff screaming in agony after shooting himself in the foot by removing its silencer.

Surprisingly, he didn't agree with my modest proposal.
