We need someone to make a series like Detectorists about trail riding...

A comedy classic if ever there was one.

Re: Some interesting parallels with green-laning
I remember the day after the first episode of Kick Start...non-motorcyclists were asking me about it. They all instantly understood that 'trials' wasn't 'scrambling'...and were enthused by things like motorcycles being ridden over cars and in and out of skips.
And there was no mention of it being dangerous or anti-social.

A few of us at school had Trials bikes and competed in 1982
We gave a demo Trial to the other school kids in a wood adjacent to school, with marked out sections and then some skips and pallets on the playing fields
Teachers and headmaster loved it and encouraged it
We even made it into a Inter House competition
Ah Grammar schools in the 1980's - no health and safety back 35 years ago
We did we go so wrong ??
Games of conkers are too dangerous now, back then real life motorbikes were ok doing a trial on school premises
We buy things we don't need
With money we don't have
To impress people we don't even like

Roughly the Carfax parking zones around Oxford Nick/Castle, Osney meadows, over the Iffley road and to Cowley Centre, somewhere around Headington - where we all took our bike tests! - down Haddington Hill and up the the High, round Longwall Street to Broad Street and down George Street before staring all over again ...
Oh how we laughed!
Regs
Simon
PS and here's the beast itself, or one of 'em, festering in rural francs where some gendarme has made them fit a mirror - Don't LOOK back! - and the owner obviously doesn't know they just love to rev ...
