70th Northern Experts Trial - Wildboarclough Saturday 11th November 2017.

Post by Hugh »

Greetings folks,

Just to let you know that the date for the 70th Northern Experts Trial is quickly approaching, come along and watch some really good folk pit their skills against some of the toughest terrain in the North West.

Riders will start out at 9AM, close to Crag Hall, Wildboarclough, near Macclesfield, signed from the A537 Macclesfield / Buxton and the A54 Congleton / Buxton road. Closest Post CodeSK11 0BD. OS map ref SJ 987 686.

Car parking for non competitors may be tight so I would suggest parking on the public car park at Clough House. Bacon butties and refreshments will be available at the competitors' car park as usual.

The route will use public roads to access the various sections that form the course, which are all on private land. There will be about 20 sections and 2 laps of approximately 5 miles. Brochure with map not published yet but when it is I will add a copy to this post.

If you would like to enter then there will be three classes: - Northern Experts Class, 50/50 class and Clubmen class.

 OBSERVERS REQUIRED, if you could help we would be most grateful to you, please contact; KEN ROBERTS on 07977 137018.

Further details: [email protected]

The mere mention of the word expert puts me right off entering the clubman class

Hi Hugh,
Thanks for the tip, I may go along on my XT and watch from Cumberland cottage, a good excuse to get out on the bike!

Greetings Dan,

I shall be starting the riders off and will probably then wander over to Cumberland, might be on the Beta Alp and if so I will ride Cumberland too, providing my knee hangs together

Greetings folks,

Attached (I hope!) is a copy of the programme listing the sections and riders.

It would be nice to meet some of you out there on Saturday, just turn up and enjoy. Unfortunately it will not be possible for you to ride the exact route between the sections as the competitors but most are within easy reach of Cumberland Clough, which motorcyclists may ride, and the A54.
