Dakindale Road, Taddington, Derbyshire.

Post by Hugh »

Greetings folks,
OK boys and girls, another request for user recollections........... hot on the heels of our recent Bulltor and Broadway Lanes' request, the ROW department at DCC are investigating the history of Dakindale Road, in the parish of Taddington, with a view to adding it to the definitive map.
The road is Trailwise refs. SK1470-01, 02 and 03.
One end of the lane is at SK 14387 70617, the other is at SK 14607 71017.
GLASS has allocated a specific email address to which you are requested to send your recollections of riding and/or driving this lane between 1984 and the present day. We need to give DCC evidence of 20 years use before the route was called into question.
The address to write to is; [email protected]
Please, just send a brief note telling us when you rode and or drove the lane, and we'll get back to you. If you have any old photos of the route they will also help us.

Greetings folks,

We’re having a ‘last push’ to harvest extra user statements from people who have used these lanes on motor bikes and/or in cars during the period before 2004, to add to our submission to DCC. Showing our regular use for 20 years before 2004 may be the only way we will save these routes for recreational motorised users of the future.

Bulltor Lane / Broadway Lane (Brushfield to Priestcliffe) mail to; [email protected]

Dakindale Road/Dokindale Road Taddington, mail to: [email protected]

Attached are 3 pdf files containing guidance, maps and a blank user form. Please complete a separate user evidence form for these routes if you used them during the 1980s or 1990s, remembering of course that we did not us the countryside during the 2001 outbreak of Foot & Mouth Disease. It is best to print the relevant form/s and send it/them to the address given by ‘snail mail’ please, since hand written statements are preferred by the DCC. A signed map showing the route ridden should also be enclosed with each submission.

If you can get the completed form/s back to us no later than 12th August we should be able to get them accepted into the system by the Highway Authority.

Thanks for reading, TTFN :)
