Foreign bike sale advice

If you know how to do something, share it with other members. i.e How to fix a puncture...How to ship a bike to Alaska etc. The post with the most 'Thank You' votes in a month wins an ABR Hoodie.

If you think the guy is genuine I would just say it doesn't matter about a deposit just set a date for the courier to turn up with the cash.If he doesn't turn up at least you know you haven't been scammed.

Check all cash carefully, recently had 3 forged 20's in 2 cash payments, but it's a scam so don't bother.

Well at first i thought whats to worry about, but after reading the link minkyhead added it would certainly seem like a scam. Problem now is youve got a thief eyeing up your bike to steal!!

The only time bikes are safe in a locked garage is when nobody knows they are in there!

The guy has emailed me his passport so I know who I am dealing with. He has offered a choice of bank transfer , cash in euros or pounds up to me what I get. He is going to take a flight an I will meet him at the trainstation that is less than 2 miles from my house so I guess i should be ok .
