At the DIRFT site near Daventry :laugh:
I had to walk back a long way to get both in and avoid contact with security :laugh:
My bike...with a wind turbine
My bike...with a wind turbine
"The trails of the world be countless, and most of the trails be tried.
You tread on the heels of many, till you come where the ways divide.
And one lies safe in the sunlight, and the other is dreary and wan, Yet you look aslant at the Lone Trail, and the Lone Trail lures you on....
....Bid good-bye to sweetheart, bid goodbye to friend, The Lone Trail, the Lone Trail, follow to the end.
Tarry not, and fear not, chosen of the true;
Lover of the Lone Trail, The Lone Trail waits for you"

That's some grass verge you have managed to climb there
Here is one a bit higher up. About 2000 foot higher

This was an unplanned foray yesterday just to see what a trail was like, hence the topbox.
It sunk to its hubs and took 2 of us to drive it out. One on the throttle and one on the clutch
Good fun though but I had to hose myself down with the garden hose before I was allowed back in the house.

Re: My bike...with a wind turbine
These all taken at between 2500 and 6600 ft in Portugal
The turbines go much further into the distance than you can see even in this next photo looking West (look on the horizon on the left of the pic, see them sticking up like little matchsticks), and they go just as far if you turn round and look East too. You can ride 100kms along mountain ridges on gravel just on this one wind farm. If you went to this region of Portugal and rode nothing but wind farms, it'd take you two weeks to get round them all, and they are all at altitude and with breathtaking views.
When I get the time, I'll stick all the photo's of the trip up in a separate thread.

The biggest wind farm in the UK just opened right on a legal lane at Fullabrook in North Devon.
