Greetings,

Please may I remind folks that unfortunately Litton Slack is no longer open to motorised vehicles, except under special authorisation for events such as the Edinburgh Trial.

Similar routes are Washgates/Tenterhill and Jenkins Chapel which are also only used for special events under strict conditions imposed by the PDNPA. We do not currently have any undue restrictions and are pleased to work with the Authorities.

Link - snowy landscape. (I've assumed the ancient newspaper cutting is not a follow-on link to the previous photo; or is it??)

Possibly, a slack is a geological term for a depression between two higher bits of a moorland as in my picture.

Never knew that - you learn something every day - and that's with a Geology A-level.... although in fairness I've probably now forgotten most of it!!
