Haven't drove a bike in that much snow ever, tell me does the bike slips in that much snow or is it like riding in a mud?

Hi Elke .. and welcome ...
I have been wondering the same thing
about riding in snow
(I have done it in the distant past and shit meself, but see that others seem to manage really well?)

does it depend on the type of snow?
or the wrong type of leaves?
or the wrong trousers?
or the right tyres?

Fresh snow is lovely to ride in , plenty of grip* and makes everything really quiet. No one else is out and about as they are all crapping themselves, have the world to yourself for a hour or two. When it gets packed down hard, or slushy and wet or freezes overnight then it's no fun ...........

* OK like no kneescraping and with grippy tyres

Like Steve says, it's great when you're out in fresh snow.

The day the photo was taken it was very slippery and to be honest, any of the 4x4s would have no trouble out maneuvering the ol' XT. Going up slight inclines had to be taken with absolute minimal power cos it would just spin and fish tail a lot but then again, that's half the fun! As and when I fall off it takes me a while to get up cos I'm laughing so hard. Bike never hurts itself cos of the way it's designed, matter of fact I should really take the mirror off as it's the most vulnerable item.

The way I see it, getting used to a bit of slipping and sliding is good practice for when you hit oil or diesel on dry roads in the summer, you don't shit yourself, panic and come off so easily, you simply adjust, ride through and continue.

But like I said before, mostly it's just fun!
