That is lovely. Exactly what off-roading should be about: light, minimal, nimble. Not this overloaded elephant nonsense so many people seem to think represents an 'adventure'.
Nice bike.

Thanks... B) (thumbs) I guess it's horses for courses, but after riding fairly lightweight bikes across Canada, we agreed they were still sometimes too heavy to get up/across things, there were some river crossings/old bridges/caves etc that we just couldn't lift them into/over. One plan for this bike is to use it with a alpaca packraft and see if we can float it across lakes...The packraft has a capacity of around 115kg so should be doable B)daveuprite wrote:That is lovely. That said, the big ktms are awesome for long distance riding...this little scorpa would get pretty tiring after a few hours on gravel.

I'm lucky enough to have a 200 smoker, middleweight 650 and an elephant GS1200 so can choose what I ride and when. Everyone's choice of riding is different thankfully

Have to agree lightweight is the way to go.
Myself and a buddy use montesa 4rt trial bike with the optional seat, for "green laning".
When the going gets tough we get going (thumbs)

Yeah, agree. Personally the whole giant GS thing isn't for me. As a way of riding long distances on tarmac it's probably perfect, but off-road no way. Lightweight enduro-style bikes are just so enjoyable in the dirt I would never want all that weight. But each to their own, as you say.g00ner wrote:Room for everyone Davedaveuprite wrote:That is lovely. Exactly what off-roading should be about: light, minimal, nimble.
