So finally got the chance to re-register on here (new name) after the forum change and figured I'd post an update on this little bike.

It's been out riding the bastard and the lanes around North Wales and it's a hoot to ride, really nice and light. Very happy with it, got the carb sorted and since then no running issues.

Nice work, fairing looks familiar, aptly painted in hovercraft paint which is handy looking at the bow wave .

That is a seriously nice bike, I'm very jealous

Where did you get the tiny wee roadbook holder from, looks more suitable for me than a full size one?

Thanks :D

It's from Moose Racing, I think dirtbikebitz sell them for around £25. If you plan to use it for competition I'd be tempted to keep the casing but replace the handles/spindles with aluminium. I don't think the plastic handles would last long - that was my plan eventually but they seem to be holding up to basic trail "left/right" instructions. :)
