My point exactly.
And the beast shall be huge and black, and the eyes thereof red with the blood of living creatures, and the whore of Babylon shall ride forth on a three-headed serpent, and throughout the lands, there'll be a great rubbing of parts

Did a ride a couple of years ago from Chicago to Sturgis via Wyoming etc, with little more than a pair of old Belstaff throwovers & a North Face base camp bag strapped on the back of a Harley FatBob.

Harleys I love em, riding I love it.

Fab pic Davsato.

Thanks for sharing.

The rise in popularity of the "Adventure Bike" genre during the last 10 years has done loads for the credibility of Harleys and their riders. The wannabes who used to buy a Harley and pretend to be Sonny Barger at weekends now have GS Adventures and think they're Ewan and Charlie. Yes, I have got a shiny Harley but it's probably more used and been further than most Adventure bikes.

I wish I could find the refernce I am looking for, but there was a report in one of the bike mags about 5 or 10 years ago, about 4 Germans who rode their harley's down through South America, jungle/desert off road the whole nine yards, and they were 1930's Knuclke Heads and Flathead side valves, not a breakdown or drama, ok not high speed motorway machines but they did the trip no problem, possibly as the bikes were originaly designed for non made roads, etc in the states back then.
