Mate they are used by the British Army they had a Rotax engine in them,
when i was in 'green machine' they got a fair amount of abuse from the guys, here is a link, tels you al about the MT350 & MT 500 http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/Articles/Bu ... MT350.aspx
I have been looking for one http://www.mod-sales.com/ as a winter ride but just cant afford the ££ they seem to make, 1 thing I we as solders Love is the Front Rifle case, B) (for SA80), This is ideal for having a quick zoom from my barracks to newsagents & putting your Sunday newspaper in it, as an Inf Solder I do wonder which (fing numnutz) decided to swap the Rear panniers & put the rifle case at the rear!!!! & panniers at the front.
then when i was riding them the panniers was just a mettle frame and we would have to fit our 58 pattern webbing over the seat via Mr Bungee.
point to note the wetproofs issued with the bike where just like a tea strainer,
So I would use my own Belstaff's (I still have them now, all but retired)
I did put aa photo up in another part of the forum of me & a mate sitting pillion on a single seat hehe we where dicking about after being at the rifle range.

thanks for the link Selous and for the background info.......... looks like a serious fun moto...... would love one to bash about on and go fishing on (real fishing not robbing), and the SA80 case would be perfect for my fishing rod or maybe my cricket bat.
