Back home, after a weekend at the ABR festival. Spent this morning taking both the Africa Twin and Tenere around the off road trail, then the Tenere on the tarmac. (Had tarmac time on the AT yesterday).
Liked both of them, despite being very different to ride.
The AT is comfortable, 'familiar', but stodgy. When you're moving it's fine, but slow speed you know there's 40kg more than mine. and too many 'gadgets'.
The Tenere is lean, lighter, but so freakin tall. I could barely tiptoe it. There is an OEM lowering kit which makes a huge difference. And the right side engine case sticks right in your calf. But no 'frills' (Traction control, modes, fly by wire, etc), which i do like.

I didnt get to try the Tenere the time slots were all booked up Friday and Saturday but I did get to ride just about everything else..The AT throttle can be a tad switchy till you get used to it , something you have to be careful off road with on the DTC when bouncing around on uneven ground.
I was going round on mine on Friday and helped pick up an AT Adventure that had fallen half way down the slope ending with with the front facing up hill on the section about half way round with the steepish slope leading on to the right turn uphill section. When I spoke to Pat at Honda later on he recond the guy had overused the front brake washing it out.

Greetings,
Visited Jacob's Ladder this afternoon and met two lovely ladies who were setting up to make their well dressing tableaus, they invite us to call in and see them being made for next weekend's celebration.
Yesterday visited Peak Forrest; Little Longstone; Great Longstone and Pilsbury near Chatsworth.

Hugh.
