Patagonia to Canada over seven months and 24,000 miles on a 1200 GSA.

We had a great time and met lots of interesting people. The map looks like we took the shortest route but in fact we followed the Andes all the way up as I’m a mountain nut. We also took small roads and dirt tracks whenever possible. The Trans American in Peru, for example, was hideous. We did 50 k’s on it and fled back up into the hills.

We had hoped to go up to Vancouver or even Alaska but crossed from Mexico into the US in March and got hit by blizzards, so we turned east to the southern states instead, where we rode the Ozarks, Appalachians, Catskills.

Wow! Would you put up some pics of the trip?

OK. I started doing it while I was riding but didn’t get much response so I let it slide. I’ll find the thread and put in mainly photos with less blather.

I don't know about others but I always welcome ride reports on here. They will never get loads of replies compared to a debate thread as by definition they are a statement and can't be disagreed with. I tend to store ride posts up and read in two or three hits but always bung a thanks on.

Will generally always read and follow a good ride report, I do sometimes get a bit annoyed when others post comments in the middle of a RR. It does somehow spoil the whole thing for me. Especially when people quote without editing as then trying to read the report on a phone becomes an endurance test while you have to scroll past all the drivel to get back on track.

Will comment at end of report and leave thanks at various stages of report.

On thing I like about the ADV site is if you click on a thread it will take you directly to the first unread part. Wish this site was same.🤔🤔🤔
Otherwise please post RR as yours most certainly would be of interest.

Thank goodness. I woke in a sweat last night wondering what a plastic lego head might look like with a torch inside it. Now I can rest easy....
