Hi all.
Couldn't get to the Midland Rally due to working the grave yard shift over the weekend, and my nephews christening on Sunday morning, so to help me through I thought I'd fit the TKC's I've had waiting around for a few weeks!
Here are a few pics.
Hardest part for me was finding somewhere with air to pop the tyres on the rims
Garage air lines by me aren't up to the task.
(Must get my compressor working)
Thanks Dave for the top tips on tyre lever usage and general tyre fitting!
And the little pot of tyre goo B)
The hounds standing guard over my very expensive bead breaker :woohoo: :woohoo:
New brake disc and pads put on at the same time. I know I use the rear brake a lot, but to wear a disc out in one set of pads seems very strange to me
Saved a couple of hundred quid on dealer prices for doing the job during the last service!
At least they rang to check first eh!
Cheers
Tony
Fitted at last! TKC80. But no Midland Rally!

Must be a nightmare for you mate. But then its not like you're missing a glorious summer to make the most of
Yes, a strange one the disc being worn out. In the past I have felt the rear binding and getting really hot. Mud and stones stopping the pads moving free I think. Was fine once I'd taken them out and stuck some copper slip on them. Lets see how this one goes.
Take care
"You can easily seat a bead with just a foot pump, you don't need masses of pressure."
Hi Mike
Have you got on tips on using the foot pump to do this?
I tried for ages and got nowhere. Apart from knackered :S
I have seen a type of strap to put around the tyre somewhere that helps make a seal whilst you pump it up, can't remember where though
Cheers

Only with a tubed tyre!
You need a continuous flow of a high volume of air to get a tubeless to fit.
In a dire emergency, fill the tyre with propane (lighter gas) and chuck a match at it.
Works a treat...is used by off-roaders in Iceland: you can see youtube of them doing it with their jeeps.
