Messing about in southern Portugal

Found a great video then post it up here. It doesn't have to be about bikes.

Whereabouts did you film that?

We were down in the Algarve in January and February, sadly without our bikes, looked like theres an incredible amount of places to ride....

It's in the Alentejo east of Mertola, Minas Sao Domingo.

Yes Portugal is very bike friendly ,great dirtbiking, very open and tracks everywhere varying from fast and smooth to very steep rocky nadgery stuff and everything in between !
Did a 500 km round trip from just over the border in Spain over to Monchique and back on different tracks, probably no more than 35 km was on tarmac and that was looking for a petrol station.
GPS is essential though, once you're up in the eucalyptus plantations in the hills all the tracks look the same !!

We drove up to Monchique past all the burnt and melted road signs, all the telegraph poles were new and so many new roofs! Sobering sights.

We looked at a house about 40 mins back from the beaches and the estate agents reckons she can ride her horse on the tracks all day and never hit a road.

Plan is to go back to the area for six months in the Autumn with a view to moving there permanently. We'll try to take the bikes this time!
