Lovely clip. There's nothing quite like a good RD on the pipe.
I have a little hybrid tucked away in the workshop that really needs to get out more.
She's a Stan Stephens tuned 350YPVS motor in an RG250 frame with slabside GSXR suspension and other weird bits here and there. About 60bhp and weighs 130kgs...

Cracking pic I love looking at the period ones,
It's mad how reliable the LC is proving to be after I rebuilt it. Love the handling to My perfect bike to be honest apart from the amount of two stroke she drinks

Re: one for the 80s two stroke fans
It's my little pet love: 80s and 90s 2 strokes.
My first proper size bike was actually a 1979 RD400 which I pimped and ported in my bedroom until it became almost unrideable. No power at all until 7000 RPM and then a stupidly slender 1000 rpm manic powerband. Basically I f*cked the bike.
Then an RD350LC, then a 350YPVS, later on an NS400 Honda, a couple of shit KHs and a nice KR1S. Four strokes took over for a while and then I rediscovered an RD350LC2 and mucked about with an RGV250 too. Friends got RD500LC and RG500s which I rode and loved but then the racing took over and it all went R6, R1, GSXR, Fireblade and some Bimota exotica etc... But l still love those period 2Ts to this day.
One overlooked bike that I owned briefly before foolishly sold on was this, and I recommend it to anyone who likes something mad and bad:
TDR250. If you can find a good one, or if you're happy to restore it, then buy it, thrash it and enjoy a bike that is about to make £500 per year.

Baby is 1970 BSA Bantam B175 ... couple of tweeks and should be back on the road having langwished in a barn since about 1980 (hopefully in July)

I had two TDR 250s, brilliant bikes they are in my top three handling bikes I’ve ridden, surprised a lot of people on big fours. There’s one for sale in SMC Sheffield, but they want £7,000 for it!daveuprite wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 5:31 pm

Re: one for the 80s two stroke fans
Yeah they're good, but maybe not that good.
Two stroke prices have gone a bit mental. If you have £5 or £6k sitting in a bank account, then turn it into an RS250 Aprilia asap. They will double in the next 5 years I reckon. As to proper 80s/90s race bikes, well it's already gone mad. You need about £50k to get a genuine race RG500 with history, and if Barry Sheen once sneezed on it you can triple that.
