Found a great video then post it up here. It doesn't have to be about bikes.

Perhaps they just needed to fill the space as the adventure is in its early days so they made an issue out of the support vehicle. This is also kind of on mainstream TV and needs to appeal to people who have never done this type of thing before.

As for crew, I realise not all the people will have gone with them, but did you see how many names are in the credits? That is a lot of people.

I find myself preferring the likes of Rod's (on here) and Oisin Hughes' videos that are a one man band though.

Speaking of which, Rod, when are you going to have some more out? :)
Hi Dan!- I think you raise some valid points; namely the audience and keeping momentum for "general" Sky viewers.

Motorcycling is an acquired taste; travelling on a motorcycle, even more so. "Budget Adventure Biking" is even more niche.
This impacts on a number of areas including(but not limited to)
1.People who wish to attend/be part of it or watch
2.Companies prepared to support financially or otherwise such a plan- promoting the concept of "making do/improvising"..not many!

filming/editing a decent quality film is both expensive & time consuming. If the goal/objective is profit- then the most logical route is to sell the finished product to Sky/Travel channel but the audience appeal has to be broad which in turn attracts the adverts which in turn justifies the initial price agreed for the film. This results in a well polished but sometimes bland product. (like a pub grub. Something pleasant to taste, but its hardly likely to get you following the chef from pub to pub)..introduce a famous celebrity or two into the mix & your chances of success are greater.

If the objective is to inspire others (both the existing/next generation) to travel on a budget- and you are a privateer - then your route is harder/- the expense is eye watering (cameras/quadcopters/editing software & time!!)- but you have greater control over the content.(If competent- costs can be reduced by undertaking much of the work yourself, but this negatively affects time).

Releasing on free to watch channels results in little/no return but If private finances allow then future trips/adventures can be undertaken. If you get it right & the viewer is happy to support(financially or otherwise)then you have cracked it..the audience gets raw honest, free from advert (subtle or otherwise) films. Get it wrong(or you check your bank balance!)and its curtains.

The Sky series. one of the protagonists is a cameraman & produces quality/professional standard product for channels including QVC and SKY while the other (Dave Lomax) runs an excellent company specialising in adventure products. They are well placed to know what will work for the audience to minimise losses and promote brand awareness.

I remember watching Ewan and Charlie & feeling inspired, which led to visiting numerous adventure events, buying numerous books, researching extensively and also subscribing for the first issue of ABR!!...what I'm trying to say is we all arrive at different times to the metaphorical "adventure biking café"- ready to either be fed pub grub and be satisfied or instead hunt for other more niche/specific food to satisfy our hunger.

Dan I know we both have similar tastes- I have seen some of your adventures! & thank you for supporting the current DVD- I hope I filled you up... even if temporarily!

I am in the middle of planning the next trip-Its beginning to take over my life/finances again, despite sporting a prolapsed vertebrae; which, I suspect will require surgery following an MRI scan.
This planned trip will again involve people whom have never met before on bikes they have never ridden in a country/s they have probably never been to. It will be shorter than the other trips and of course will be filmed in its entirety!...I don't know if any of the previous characters will be making an appearance...I sincerely hope not!..but lets see!( characters can be found https://shaw2shore.co.uk/video-gallery/#bwg2/4 )

if anyone is interested in coming PM me!...its your chance to be (in)famous

Films of this quality undoubtedly do cost a lot to make/produce- I would have expected the company to whom he pitched it to have met & exceeded the costs in exchange for premier rights- those without sky (round two) are now being invited to subscribe to watch it/ where adverts make up revenue

I still love honest "anyone can do this" reports like WIBO & his team of Goats!

Why thank you Kind Sir.
