What's the World coming to when people spend as much on Halloween decorations as they do for Christmas? :woohoo:

Michael Jackson and attracting young kiddies to your house with sweeties mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Cool vid though and very well done, there was another a few years back for Xmas think Coke used it in their advertising campaign.

I'm with you O_O I hate halloween and blame it all on ET. Kids in the UK didn't do Halloween until after that movie came out.

I agree that many of the seasonal celebrations have been over commercialised and you can definitely blame this on the Americans and their propensity towards celebrating equating to spending.

However, most of these celebrations have a long history: Halloween is older than Christianity and is a celebration of the end of summer. As for St. Valentine’s Day: this is a Christian celebration that most people will know about.

The celebrations that I have problems with are such things as Father’s Day and Parent’s Day along with Grandparent’s Day all of which are commercial money-making events born from the Christian celebration of Mothering Sunday – a celebration that was as much to do with Mother Church and Mother Earth as it was to do with our mothers.
