Biker Down Course

Post by Jak* »

Last week, along with other members of my local club, 623 MCC, I attended a Biker Down Course. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. They are run by local fire brigades across the UK and are free to attend, most forces seem to aim for a group size of ten to twenty.
There are three modules on the course which cover managing an accident scene, emergency first aid including safe(r) helmet removal, and increasing rider perception. As someone who has been riding bikes for forty years, attended various advanced rider and first aid courses, I still learnt something on every module. The course delivery was excellent, the instructors being experienced bikers and firefighters were as you would except very knowledgeable. You also get a free first aid kit to carry on the bike.
