Greetings,
I might not choose to sit next to her for a meal but she is a damned hard worker with more determination than many in politics. Her choice of words was not appropriate for public speaking in 'management' but the meaning can not be disputed.

Labour went down to an historic defeat under Corbin and Rayner. Floods of traditional Labour voters voted Conservative.Hugh wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 6:34 pm Greetings,

If she thinks calling those former Labour voters and the vast majority who voted Tory last time ‘scum’ is a viable way to win the next election, she’s an idiot.
Re: Oi am avin, a FAG!
I dunno, I reckon most of the numpties that jumped ship in the last election have realised by now that they were taken for the fools they are and are now quite aware that they did indeed vote for scumgbags wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 8:14 pmLabour went down to an historic defeat under Corbin and Rayner. Oh dear, I obviously got that wrong, I didn’t realise that it was the ex Labour voters who she was referring to when she said scum, I presumed it was an Eton educated lying toff. Silly me.gbags wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 8:14 pmLabour went down to an historic defeat under Corbin and Rayner. Greetings,
I empathise with your views as to being inappropriate but hopefully she will learn from her mistakes, perhaps only time will tell.
Politics and management both seem to be in a quandary at present with so many mistakes and lack of planning - Failing to Plan is Planing to Fail- as quoted in my day and which seems to fit the current situations, but then we are never given the full picture.

According to the paper it was Senior Tories she was referring to, so you were right, and I agree with her on that.Cornishman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 9:51 pm Oh dear, I obviously got that wrong, I didn’t realise that it was the ex Labour voters who she was referring to when she said scum, I presumed it was an Eton educated lying toff. Never really heard of her before, so she now has her 15mins.
The problem with Labour is that they still have too strong a tie with the unions for the majority of voters to put faith in them. The New Labour Blair/Brown project (Red Tories) won votes, but at the expense of the unions, then it swung the other way again under Corbin. Starmer wants to get into government at any cost, which I find distasteful, as the party has no direction, policy or backbone, they just want votes. At least with the Conservatives, you know you are going to be screwed from day one. Hence her comment no doubt.
Re: Oi am avin, a FAG!
I was well pleased with the way Starmer positioned himself for the photo opportunity this morning, his body language left no doubt that he approves of Angela Rayner
I dont care whether people regard calling scum out for what they are as a political no no, id rather see our politicians say what they think
(I still dont like Starmer he's just another champagne socialist, but ill vote for fake labour just to try get rid of the utter bastards we currently have)

Re: Oi am avin, a FAG!
I think if you were a nurse, a parent of a child on free school meals, a recent refugee, someone whose parent died in a care home due to government incompetence over Covid, or someone who is about to have the £20 a week uplift taken away, then you might be inclined to agree with her. Some of Priti Patel’s and Jacob Rees Moggs comments certainly deserve the description. This current government have shown such disdain for the poor in this country that it is hard to think of a better description.
I think it is a shame that voters and the right wing of the Labour Party could not see through the lies that were spread in the right wing media about Corbyn, a lot of his policies now make a lot of sense.
The unions in this country now have so little power and money that the funds they give to the Labour Party do not make a huge difference. Personally I would rather know that a party was funded by unions and were up front about it, than be ruled by a party funded through dodgy deals and back handers from billionaires.
Mahathma Gandhi — 'If there is a idiot in power; it is because those who elected him are well represented.'

Re: Oi am avin, a FAG!
Have a look at Starmer's bio - not a champagne socialist really.
As for elected at any cost, aren't all politicians like that?
