I had a test ride on a Zero yesterday. As a rider of more traditional bikes, a Himalayan, Guzzis and Brit bikes, I thought I would find it dull. It wasn’t, it was an absolute hoot to ride. The handling was good and the acceleration was probably better than a Fireblade. The price and range would put me off buying one. If you bought a new Himalayan instead you would have about ten grand left over to spend on petrol. However if I was just using a bike for weekend jaunts in the sun, which is what the majority of bikes sold on the UK do, I would be very tempted. I hope by the time that petrol becomes vastly more expensive and difficult to obtain the cost and charging time will have gone down and the range gone up.

The Freeride E from KTM is amazing, too....but only for about 45 minutes (they may have a longer range now than the early one I rode).

It's almost dangerously powerful as there's no clutch and if you touch the throttle it's off!
