Morning.
How long's it been now, ten days?
So help yourselves to a free download of my 1980s London
Street Riding Years despatching memoir.
I can't be the only one who must be thinking that, apart from the risk of contagion, traffic-wise this must be a brilliant time to be despatcing in London – and probably most cities of the world right now. Traffic like it was in the Fifties.
More about the book here:
https://adventure-motorcycling.com/the- ... ding-years
including loads of images, year by year, from the era.
If the following snapshots (1977: Street Riding Year Zero) and the decade which followed mean anything to you, you're in for a treat.
Help yourselves ;--)

Re: Street Riding Years - free download
Nice one Chris, I shall look forward to reading that. Lots of memories from those pictures you have posted. I recognise the Sussex Armouries ad, that was one of the reasons I trained as an armourer in the REME. Shooting had really taken off in this country until Micheal Ryan did his bit in Hungerford. After leaving the forces I spent three years as a courier, great times, although I would not want to do it now. Too much traffic, too many cameras and not enough money.
Thanks Jak

Just seen that Mocheck advert. Remember them? They had shops all over London, must have been about 6 or 7 of them. Handy when zipping around all day.

Great pics, I'm slowly drowning in nostalgia! At this rate I'll be digging out my back copies of Bike mag, which date back to 1975 And my LP's
