Sad news about the death of Albert Uderzo.
I was a crazy Asterix fan as a kid, and I still have most of those same childhood cartoon books today. Uderzo was the illustrator, and just brilliant at it. I feel a bit like the day that Jim Henson left us - like a source of the most positive aspect of childhood has been taken away.
Combined with Tintin, I'm sure these cartoons were partly responsible for my wanderlust. When Asterix went to Switzerland and Spain etc, I wanted to go there too.
Luckily Getafix the Druid has just poured a potion for me...

I too love Asterix
Set my self a bit of challenge a few years back to see how many Asterix books I could collect, the only proviser was that they had to come from a charity shop, so far have got nearly 20. .
Have the list of one's I have already bought on my phone so no double purchases, although grandson doesn't mind when I buy the odd extra one.
Also used to love the Lucky Luke books, not Underzo but Goscinny was involved.
And let's face it Asterix and Oblex make Charly and Ewan seem like complete amateurs when it comes round the world adventures.
