That's because he's trying to put a lid on people getting lashed.

Cheers Gary, I find a grand old speech sometimes is good for mental health, unfortunately its all just pretty words and never changes anything just reinforces my desire to go and love a quiet life in the middle of nowhere with the Mrs and the dogs.

I didn't realise you were in Wales mate, typically English of me there I suppose. Your restrictions have been different yes, a lot simpler and black and white but it doesn't seem to be there's any middle ground, from what I can gather obviously I'm not too clued up on it.
All I'll say is I miss Wales and the mountains but I don't think its right I should be able to come and do whatever I want to do while the Welsh still have restrictions on movement, you don't need imported cases from England so we should probably stay away for a while. Same for Scotland and northern Ireland really.

England's new system is still confusing so I think most people are just carrying on as they were before really, I am but that involves going to work, walking the dogs and maybe a pint on a Sunday in a quiet pub, I don't really see many friends and family anyway so being in a "tier 2" city now doesn't really change anything.

I'll admit that I don't really know what the best way forward out of this is to balance people's lives, mental health, other conditions and the economy, I just know I want to see us try and limit the amount of people who die overall before we have to accept it as fact.

On the insurrection and violence front I doubt we're that many Dominic Cummings style events before we get to that anyway really, are we?

One of our mates and his wife were invited to sign up for a Government led research programme and recently had their first Covid test. Neither had any symptoms, both were still working hard for his Company and we were due to meet up (along with others) this Sunday for a bike breakfast ....... until yesterday when his test came back positive. They are in total disbelief as there are no symptoms whatsoever, they live and work in a rural area with no restrictions and were happily going about normal life.
How many people like that do we mix with?

‘‘Tis a worry

It’s so infectious

Friend’s daughter at university

6 in a flat, all are tested weekly

Last Thursday all tested negative

On the Saturday, one felt unwell and off colour

Phoned Uni and they said they would retest on Sunday

All 6 tested positive 5-6 days ago, despite semi isolating and no lectures or socialising outside their flat and only shopping

Some of the 6 have absolutely no symptoms
We buy things we don't need

With money we don't have

To impress people we don't even like

My Wife and I have received the invite from the ONS/Oxford university but as yet not signed up. Our Daughter, Son in law and granddaughter are coming to live with us at the end of October until their new house is finished and we are thinking of trying to include them on our invite as we will be a family bubble. Just to complicate matters my Wife is a nurse (who also provides childcare for our granddaughter) and our Daughter is an ICU nurse who often works in the Covid isolation ward. For us I think it is a no brainer to enrol.

   . Must admit that is the way I've thought for years. News stories, documentaries, tv, film, internet etc even the stuff presented as fact or supported by fact ............. they are all third hand stories at best and have been edited by the teller or scriptwriter to suit their own agenda. Sure there may be an element of truth but that can be used to promote the agenda of the money man paying for it to be produced.

For good or bad, I have the BBC News set up on Safari. There are probably better ones out there but I hate adverts...

Anyhow, it is amazing how often a headline is totally misleading and gives a completely different perspective to the actual report but a hour or so later the headline is completely different. Most of the time the headlines don’t make grammatical sense either.

Laura Kuenssberg annoys the hell out of me but I do think Katya Adler does give a fair report and perspective - ok, that is Brexit related but still relevant to the post.

A couple of days after a major disaster happens the blame game starts, at that point try watching BBC then RT then Sky then Al Jazeera and you will see how the different powers start to influence and turn the facts.
