last year the fca announced that overdraft charges were too high .. and that new regulations were coming into force …
been waiting for a year to get some fairness to these charges as I have a big overdraft ..

I thought that when I received notification from my bank about the changes, looks like it's a typical the bank can't loose one way or the other, I have an agreed overdraft but don't stray into it these days, to say banks pay bugger all in interest they haven't lowered interest rates when they apply them to your account if you owe them!
That's capitalism for you, but Boris will sort it

Classic example of how stupid the Government is.

They told the banks it was unfair fo them to charge a premium rate for unarranged overdrafts compared to arranged overdrafts.

"Fine" said the banks, and put the price of arranged overdraft up to match.

Kerrrching, kerrchung!

yep .. same happened with women's pension age …. men complained that women retired at 60 while they had to work till 65 …
so they rose the women's pension age to 65 … in the interest of fairness and equality.

.. and we all just take it as its dished out

Its relevant as all my spare money could now go on paying my overpriced overdraft instead of buying petrol to France.. or going towards a small trail bike and van.

The heading for this part of the forum says "The Pub anything goes" & overdrafts are a fact of life for some people, you don't have to read the replies you know it's not compulsory
