Bainbridge Hill Climb

Post by johnnyboxer »

Good to see 2 World Champions battling it out ....just for fun

It really is a unique sort of event and stems from the Bainbridge sports days from the 1960's & 1970's when there was fell running, team ball sports and running races, plus motorcycle off-road racing when local lads, pitted themselves against the factory riders of the day and maybe took a win, a story to tell the grandkids - the day I beat such & such in mi back yard ...

That can still happen today - a local farmer's son on a 20 year old 520 KTM, knocked out World Champion Graham Jarvis on a full factory 2020 Husky tonight - so upsets can happen

Great night out and full of Dales folk and farmers too

Had a couple of pints in West Burton pub afterward with a few folk to round off the evening

World Enduro and USA GNCC Champion Knighter on the far right slot

At the end - Knighter was either winner or runner up on the Suzuki

First time I’ve missed in a few years. Did you bump into my dad JB?

No, didn't see your Dad sadly - it was thronged and a vintage year with Jarvis & Knighter racing this year
Saw Nigel Mc racing and Barry/Stu who were scrutineering

Bugger, forgot it again! I knew I should have done myself a reminder on everything.

The problem with Bainbridge is the bloody loud music, hope it was quieter last night?
