4.1.1 Presence, condition and operation
A motorcycle or motorcycle combination must be fitted with one headlamp, although additional headlamps may be fitted. Apart from headlamp security, the check only applies to mandatory lamps.


Looking at the extract Sanqhar provides, I'd think that only the original headlight/s should be tested ... the "mandatory" lights. As long as any additional "accessory" lights aren't about to fall off, they can be ignored.

I've always been under the impression that "if it's there, it has to work" - I even removed a set of auxiliaries before the MOT once because it was quicker to do than repair the (just failed) switch...
