Probably lots of things that were common parlance when we were lads have passed into obscurity
prompted by a bit of morning afterness, it dawned on me I havn't heard anyone say:
" I must have had a bad pint" for a long time
was a common and favourite cliche, used of course as an excuse when the real reason you felt like shit was not 1 bad pint but the fact you had 8 good ones
Any other dissapearing exclamations come to mind?

Not heard that one for years...I think it was used a lot in VIZ by Sid the Sexist or someone.
What I've noticed is people don't say 'railway station' any more: it's 'train station'.

Is it not 'the flicks' anymore then?
What about a pint of goldtop milk with your Ready Brek then - that'd set you up for the day, oh no now you throw some skimmed water at your oats the night before and then balance it on an avocado sprinkled with some seeds you can't pronounce the name of

Re: Do people still say.......
Well I suddenly realised the other day that I had become an old fart when I found myself saying:
"Well bless his cotton socks"
I somehow doubt anyone much under 40 has ever said this.
Personally I like the fact that language constantly changes and evolves, and I try to make an effort to keep up with it. But there are certain phrases that are definitely passing into obscurity as those who use them die out.

Bacon and black pudding roll for every Saturday and Sunday breakfast. Real healthy stuff. None of the rabbit food.
Slightly off target but I remember when dramas were filmed in daylight and you could hear what the actors were saying.......
They have replaced all the good phrases with “so.........”
