So, it seems, does everyone except Honda.
Expect a massive launch followed by massive discounts followed by early deletion.
When Honda miss a mark, they miss by a mile.

Re: NEC Bike show today
I wasn’t sure about the look of the KTM 790 Adventure...I didn’t like those two plastic covers/boxes on each side of the engine that hold the fuel (I think)...it looked odd, to me .
For a small bike, I liked the BMW GS310.
The Honda ATs still looked the business
The Fantics looked fantastic ...but no idea if they are any good.
I wasn’t keen on the two new Nortons.
And Harley look like they’ve lost there way or hired a designer who is high on wacky baky...

Re: NEC Bike show today
Whilst I and probably many others are pleased that you’ve decided on your next bike......please enlighten us on what the R is.
I’m guessing that it’s a KTM of some description? But it could be a Triumph...

I doubt you will see a deletion of the model - just a price realignment in due course
I reckon at £7599 it would be a good seller

I forgot...I also liked the new GS1250 and didn’t like the new GS850.
And if I was looking for something like the CCM Spirfire or new Norton Atlas I think I would still probably go for a BMW R90T which still look the business

Re: NEC Bike show today
I was there with a couple of mates yesterday (Thursday). I hadn't originally planned to go as it is such an expensive thing to just get through the door: £30 in fuel, £16 parking and £25 for the ticket... and it seems to be smaller each year... Anyway, one of my friends hadn't been before so off we went.
We ended up having a great time and got to have a look and sit on most of the bikes that interested us. The Ténéré was great and priced well at around £8k. However, looks-wise, I preferred the KTM 790 Adventure R but at £12k, it's well out of my price range.
I liked the look of the little 310 GS but the seat dug in just at the wrong point of my thighs. The 850 GS on the other hand felt great to me.
I loved the Enfield Himalayan and had a great chat with Nathan about long-term reliability. The Royal Enfield concept V-twin was also lovely, as were the new 650 twins that they had on show.
Ariel had the amazing Nomad which I will lust after for the rest of my life:
I think that the stand-out bike of the show could have been the Benelli TRK 502. A 500cc twin cylinder adventure bike for £5,500! Ideal for anyone on a budget or someone new to touring... I think we might be making a visit to the local dealer for a test ride...
