Anything goes, and mine's a Guinness.

Speeding in Luxembourg, anyone got any experience?

Post by Scott_rider » Fri Sep 07, 2018 5:13 pm

I've been nicked for speeding on the bike in Luxembourg :( . It's a 50 euro fine and the Luxembourg Police have written to me in the UK. I've been onto their website and it's all genuine rather than a con. However under their law they don't send a copy of the picture taken at the time of the offence. If you want to query it, or look at it, you have to visit their office in Luxembourg  , which is a bit of a ball ache for 50 euros.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience of this...what I'm getting at is the consequences of not paying it

(I know I shouldn't have been speeding  )

Do you ever intend on returning to Luxembourg??

If they've got your address I would probably just pay it.You know you were in the wrong and it's not as if you're getting points on your licence. If it was your annual holiday it's an extra 1€ a week so I would just suck it up,it's not worth stressing about.

I ended up with two fines from Spain.
Speeding in my little Citroen C1. Same day, same stretch of road.
I did see one Camara flash.....

Anyway, as has said above, if they’ve sent a fine notification to your home address then pay up.

I did, I’ve not heard anymore. And after all, I was guilty.

If you really want to see the picture, email them and ask them to send you a hard copy.

I didn't think Luxembourg was big enough to speed in...

I'm sure I read on here, many moons ago, a post by an experienced lawyer type chap about the debt being passed on to a UK collection agency if it's not paid.
A quick google comes up with this
