Motorcycles are the solution to conjestion, not the cause.
In my view Motorcycles and mopeds should be exempted from charges. They contribute very little to emissions and actively reduce conjestion when chosen over any other form of powered transport. Encouraging a modal shift to motorcycles and mopeds would have many benefits for the city and the commuter.
1. Less conjestion, meaning
2. Cleaner air.
3. Decreased time commuting as there would be less conjestion. Even for those who still chose other powered methods with which to commute
4. Lower fuel costs for all commuter.
5. Improved road safety for vulnerable road users (motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians). A greater awareness and understanding of two wheeler transport as it becomes a more common method of commuting.
6. Savings for the local council as the road infrastructure would not require considerable re-work to make more space for commuting traffic.
