Re: Classic bike insurance
I agree about Peter James, particularly if you have more than one bike or want to ride other people's bikes. They have a slightly weird way of working out when a bike is a classic though. Last time I asked a Harley was classed as classic at ten years old but an Enfield had to be fifteen.

Re: Classic bike insurance
I had my TR5T insured with Lynbrook, liked em that much I stayed with them with the cb500x
***just like Britney Spears oops I did it again……sold the Scrambler & as of now there may not be a replacement***
Re: Classic bike insurance
Just added my BSA Bantam to my main policy. with value and mileage allowance (2k/annum). only £40 top up Other companies wanted a separate "classics" policy with 3 figure premiums
Re: Classic bike insurance
Last year I added CX500b to my KTM 1190 Adventure insurance through Carol Nashand expected the usual shafting. When I was told it would £18 inc admin fees I thought that’s very reasonable. When I went to give my payment details she had to tell me again it was an £18 refund! Never had insurance refunded before, probably never again.
Re: Classic bike insurance
I have used Peter James for the last few years after Footman James upped their price. Have 10 bikes on one policy with them including 2 old moderns (2003 Transalp & varadero 1000) I think their start is 10 to 15 years old for the classic policy.
I was thinking of a modern ( 2012) and they wanted a large premium increase so it would have been cheaper to take out a new policy for that one bike with another provider, did not bother in the end.
Admin cost of change is £15 but not charged for change of modifications or removal of a bike on being sold, assuming there are others left on the policy.
A con is they are shut all weekend but will respond to emails on the Monday.
Not had to make a claim so do not known how they perform there.
