The following is just conjecture as I don't know the full facts, but reading posts by trustworthy British bike travellers on the HU FB group, World Nomad insurance (one of the guy's 3 insurers) either only covers UK residents / citizens on bikes to 125cc OR possibly not at all (!!!) if your main mode of transport is a motorcycle... Other passport holders don't face this restriction.

A tragic series of events, may he now rest in peace.

Let's hope his death is not in vain and that some meaningful discussion and understanding of insurance policies comes from this.
