Today we have new user Maureen waffling on about Adidas band Nike.
Last week we had another new user prattling on about something, we had a Muppet trying to write essays for us
To date since new forum I believe we have had at least 5 of these new members, whilst amusing it is quite annoying clicking on a link only to find it is a spam) phishing
So is there any sort of vetting process in place for new members

Re: Maureen!! Who the F*#@ is Maureen
To be honest this doesn't help the forum and I agree. Just lately I still scan the posts--but now have to check the last post date carefully as some are now ages old and new stuff/contributions of any worth are becoming less and less. I must admit that personally there is very little of interest compared to the earlier version and 6 months or so ago, and now I very rarely feel disposed to add or comment. I think the "ghost" format is largely to blame--its not easy to navigate quickly and most of us are time limited and have other forums etc that we follow.
So the solution--my vote is to go back to the rolling post format that we had before and make it bolder and easier to read. I know that this has been discussed before at length, but you have to admit that its lost its "sparkle". I wonder what the results would be if a survey was done of "live" members and "posts per day" now--and 9 months ago. It will be a shame if it dies completely.

Looks like the Spam Bots have found the forum.
Suggest the sign up needs to be tougher...
